Produced and presented by Xameleon Theatre
Hosted by The Cockpit
After successful premiere in February 2018 Xameleon Theatre returns to The Cockpit with A Doll's House for a limited run! The show was also performed as part of Berlin's International Theatre Festival in June 2018.
Nora and Torvald's family seems to be very happy. They have three wonderful children, a beautiful house and a bright future ahead of them. But is their marriage as perfect as it appears if just a little secret can tear it apart?
A Doll's House is often perceived as proto-feminist, but Xameleon Theatre's production is much more than a feminist play. It is a contemporary interpretation talking about the courage to be yourself, the right to make decisions and to take responsibility for them, and the duty to oneself.
Henrik Ibsen's play has been considered controversial and shocking due to its style and content when it was first staged. However, this play exploring marriage, trust and duty is still disturbingly relevant today.
Performed in Russian with English surtitles by London based Russian Theatre Company. Xameleon Theatre previous shows include A Dog's Heart by Bulgakov at Pleasance Theatre, Love in a Nutshell after Chekhov and The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery at The Cockpit .
