Najma is a highly respected artist on the World Music scene, who created the genre of 'Ghazal and Jazz'.
Her first album 'Qareeb' was a milestone and as a pioneer she has inspired many within the Indian fusion genre. Since then, she has recorded numerous solo albums and worked and collaborated with many artists that include the likes of Andy Summers, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, Bassment Jaxx and many more.
Her music has been used in film, theatre, fashion videos and documentaries, such as for the National Geographic channel.
Najma has toured and performed extensively in the U.K, Europe, USA, Canada, Japan and the Middle East.
She has also performed at many festivals such as WOMAD and Glastonbury and at prestigious venues such as,
Ronnie Scotts, Jazz Café, The Royal Albert Hall, and The Dominium Theatre where she supported the late Nina Simone.
